KIJHL Power Rankings – Week 18

The Kootenay International Junior Hockey League completed its 18th week of regular season action for the 2024-25 season. The KIJHL Power Rankings highlight the top-five teams based on winning percentage, with various tie-breakers to help decide positioning.

 

The Kimberley Dynamiters remain in the No.1 spot. Over the weekend, they earned a 5-4 shootout win over the Chase Heat. Trey Stephenson scored the shootout winner. Danik Reeves scored the winner in a back-and-forth battle with the Nelson Leafs, giving them a 6-5 victory.

 

 

 

The Princeton Posse return to the top-five in the No.2 slot. They defeated the Williams Lake Mustangs 4-1 in their lone game. Jace Shuttleworth netted the winner short-handed.

 

 

 

The Revelstoke Grizzlies keep their No.3 spot. They shutout the Merritt Centennials 3-0 with Connor Shymoniak netting the winner and Devin Degenstein earning his second shutout with a 29-save performance. They also earned a 3-2 overtime victory over the Sicamous Eagles, with Diego Smith burying the winner.

 

 

The Merritt Centennials dropped two spots to No. 4. They lost to the Grizzlies 3-0, then bounced back for a 5-1 win over the Quesnel River Rush. Alex Cordero had a two-goal night, that included the winner.

 

 

 

The Grand Forks Border Bruins dropped a spot to No. 5. Tyler Burke scored the winner and Eric Kahl earned the shutout, his first in the KIJHL, with a 22-save performance. The Border Bruins then earned a 7-2 win over the Castlegar Rebels with Ryker Rougeau netting the winner and Jasper Tait made 21 saves.
