Steven Foster of the Merritt Centennials had a three-goal, four-point performance to earn this week’s Young Guns selection.
Foster played a key part in the Centennials’ 8-3 win over the Columbia Valley Rockies as his second goal proved to be the winner.
“I definitely liked the pace I was playing with, the intensity, my linemates really made sure that we were playing with pace and that helped my game,” said Foster. “My linemates definitely helped contribute a lot to my production. I think being able to play with pace, playing a little bit of the body really helped me get those points.”
Rhett Serfas and Sam Giangualano set up Foster’s first goal, then Giangualano assisted on Foster’s winner, while Alex Cordero and Dylan Ruff set him up for the hat-trick. Foster assisted on Brayden Thurlow’s goal to make it 6-2.
In 21 games, Foster leads the Centennials in goals (15) and points (27).
