Name: Friends of Merritt Jr. A Hockey Society
Purpose: to provide volunteer, organizational and fundraising support to assist with the development, delivery and evaluation of programs, services and equipment required by the Merritt Junior A Hockey Team.
Secondary: The Society also strives to promote:
• Hockey in Nicola Valley;
• Youth opportunities within the organization;
• Diversity in the organization; and
• Pride in the community
Values: It is expected members will act in a manner that is RESPECTFUL, RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE to the organization and public.
Initiatives: An initial list includes:
• Bingo, beer gardens, 50/50, Ice Breaker, possible Duck Race and others if identified and agreed to by the Society.
• Community Engagement: The Society will provide assistance with:
• Merchandising orders and sales
• Rodeo parade and rodeo
• Christmas parade
• National Anthems
• Truth and Reconciliation
• Terry Fox Run
• Game Day Activities – flag bearers, first and 2nd period intermission, entertainment.
